Our Garage Sale is happening today, Friday and Saturday.  If you aren’t participating by selling your old stuff, maybe you should get out and buy your neighbors’ old stuff!  If you aren’t in the buying mood, get out and meet some new people.

We will hold our neighborhood-wide garage sale on May 2nd, 4th and 5th.  If you want to be put on the map, email hiddenoaksstcharles@gmail.com with your name & address and days & hours participating.

Yard Waste pickup is free this Wednesday, April 11th, 2012.  Place the waste in the appropriate brown bags, or your brown roll out cart marked with a big red X.

The Easter Egg Hunt was held on an unseasonably warm April 1st.  We had 21 kids participate, and Grant was there to represent the canines of the neighborhood.  His only interest was in eating grass, though!  Our volunteers stuffed over 3,000 eggs for the event and somehow the kids found all of them.  In addition to the eggs, each child selected two addtional prizes to take home.

Walker’s Circle Alright, it is nearly Spring- feels like it anyway- so how about we start a neighborhood walking circle, club, community group, whatever we want to call it! If you are in the mind to get out and walk anyway, but having a group to go with, please join us! This is an all person event- men/ women/ kids/ strollers/ dogs- no excuses! Details of what I am proposing are listed below…this is a no RSVP event, just show up when you can- and as often or as little as you can! Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays every week- if snow/ ice/ heavy rain, just wait for the next day- light rain- put on that slicker and grab the umbrella! Time: start at 7PM (gather 6:50-7:03- start walking then!)- get dinner/ homework and chores done and come on out! 🙂 Meet At: Corner of Willow Oak and Turner Oak (go to the side of Turner Oak where the stop sign is) Route: Turner Oak to Basket Oak south all the way to Chestnut Oak west and loop all the way down through the court on Chestnut Oak then back up to Burn Oak east to Willow Oak back to starting point (we will need to stay on the sidewalks for safety!) Pace: There will be fast power walkers and slower power walkers….just find the group you fit with and go…! We will also decide if we are doing more than one lap at a time. Those of you needing a bit more of a challenge can loop the side culdesacs as we go by! Alright, so put on those tennis shoes and comfy clothing and come on out for some community support to get a good walk in twice a week!

 WANTED: Chairperson for each of 2 Main Events in Hidden Oaks

• We are looking for chairpersons to head up the organizing of the Easter Egg Hunt and the SummerFest. This person- one for each- would be the one to line up help to get each event off the ground and running each year. They would find volunteers to help with the stages and coordinate with the board on the budget or any changes to original structure. The current structure instructions will be given to the new chairperson to use as a guide to help get this off the ground. As changes to any of the structure as it is now it needs to be approved by the board first.
